Does your company suffer from lackluster performance? Does your company function in an atmosphere of fear? Is there a large employee turnover and very few explanations as to why? Rick worked at a place like that while installing car stereos for an “interesting character” at the ages 16-18. Today, Rick and Brandon talk about a part of business and employee relationships that most ignore: The emotional culture.
- Harness occurrences of the positive emotions: Love and Joy.
- Deal with occurrences of the negative emotions: Sadness and fear
- How does your office decor and furnishings add to a comfortable and fun environment? Do you allow employees to express themselves by hanging items on the wall or cubicle?
- Are there small, comfortable conference rooms with tissues that allow an employee to express his/her emotions?
- Are their pictures of past events of employees and management displaying fun? For example, office holiday parties, etc. Or like a picture of a company river rafting trip?
- Do you generate an atmosphere of fear with signs of company rules and consequences for breaking them?
Moral: Pay attention to what is inside your employees, not just the outside, and you may feel a company revival.
