If you are a small business and will have 50 or more full time employees on January 1, 2016, then the insurance mandate may apply to you. But where do you start? Who do you call? - Call your CPA to determine if you are required to provide health insurance for your employees?
- Find an insurance agent who has a lot of experience, and options, for small and midsized business’s health insurance.
- Determine if it is important for you and your employees to retain their doctors. Compile a list of policies that you can afford.
- Compile a menu of insurance plans from cheaper to more expensive for you employees to choose.
- Adjust your budget to accommodate the new policy.
