  • Are you wearing these three hats? If not, you need to change.
    1. The Entrepreneur
      • Do you have the personality to turn the most trivial condition into an exceptional opportunity?
      • Are you a visionary?
    2. The Manager
      • Do you have the personality that is pragmatic?
      • Do you plan and manage?
    3. The Technician
      • Do you have the personality to dig into the details and do the work?
      • Do you like to tinker with your product or service to make it better?
      • Are you uncomfortable with the company growing because it puts more pressure on you to deliver?

       

      • Build a preliminary organization chart, even if you don’t have any people to fill the boxes.
      • Hire or re-shuffle people to fill the slots. Get the right people on the bus (Jim Colins “Good to Great.”)First right peopleMotivation and management issues go awayIf you found the wrong people, make the hard decision early.
      • Set up the processes and procedures that allow you to delegate as much as possible.
