Does your small business burn through its money? Do you wonder where it all went by the end of the month? Many small businesses struggle because they don’t know how to manage their money. Business owners are usually the best at what they do technically, but lack the background and discipline to understand how to manage their businesses. More important, many individuals sabotage their businesses with their personal high cost lifestyles. Today, Rick and Brandon tell of examples of how many from small business individuals to high worth individuals fell into that trap.

  1. Check out your accounting software.  Can you view your profit and loss by:
    1. Product
    2. Department
    3. Region
    4. Sales person
  2. Check your accounting system to see if it allows you to see the cost each product or service you are providing.
  3. Make sure  someone in your company is able to download EXCEL files of these reports.
  4. Learn to use Google Docs or another similar software that allows you and your company to update files without creating multiple simultaneous versions.
  5. If you have resources, check out budget software and clouds.
